So here's the deal: My old hard drive in my laptop went kaput, so I bought a new one and it works fine. Only problem is, once I try to install my wireless card, my computer makes an ominous "boing" noise. Not the typical "dun-dun" recognized hardware boing (for those of you running windows, you know the sound I mean, like when you plug in a flash drive, for example), but more of a "DUN!" noise. I just realized how hard it is to make noises via messageboard. I hope my problem is clear enough. Device manager says it's working properly. It's a Linksys WRT54GL wireless card. Model #: WPC54GR. Also, if it helps, the new HDD I installed is a Western Digital Scorpio 250GB Notebook HDD.

    PS: I'm running Vista. Thanks!
