Hello. I've need some help trying to get my dual monitor situation fixed. I'll provide as much info as possible.

I used to run a GeForce 7600 GT with (I think)1.7xx drivers. I had my Sony TV connected as a second monitor and ran dualview so I could drag stuff over to my TV. Everything worked fine.

Then I bought a 7900 GT and upgraded drivers to the latest 1.8xx. Now, dualview isn't even an option in Nvidia control panel (in which the multiple displays tab has changed considerably). I can apply the Clone function but it sets my GPU fan into non-stop action as well as giving me a flicker at the screen halfway point on my TV.

When I don't apply the Clone funtion and just check the box beside my TV and then click apply, an extended desktop DOES show up on my TV, but my PC monitor goes all crazy...flickering blue all over the screen.

Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

    Thanks,

    Neesh

Just to let anyone know, I`ve solved the problem.

After hours and hours of research, driver reinstalls and restarts, apparently, all I needed to do was overclock my GPU settings a bit--up to 500 mhz for core bus and 800 mhz for memory bus.

No idea why or how this allows dualview with normal fan speeds or even at all. `

GPU runs at around 53 degrees C now. Hope that isn`t too warm.

Why not just use windows to setup monitors? I have not tried that specific card, but most nvidia I have played with do not even need the nvidia control panel to configure monitors.
