ummm...all you have to do is click "user guide" on the first screen before the app loads.

Even after it loads you can just click on "user guide".

The tut is right in the program itself.

Kind of hard to get to the user guide when some users can't even get the aplication to boot. So in order to view the user guide to get past this issue you need to find it somewhere else.

So its nice to see another source link for the user guide.

If it doesn't boot why would you need the tut?

I can't even get the program to run. I am on vista and have sp1 with all the latest .net stuff. It loads sometimes but then if I try load it again it freezes my pc. Any ideas?

I think I have gotten round this by running the program in xp sp2 computability mode.

Successfully flashed my benq that was running 1.4 :) only question I have now is about the two files I saved during the process. Do I need to keep these? BENQ-OFW.bin and Benq_CFW.bin

Cheers.

Save the BENQ-OFW.bin so you have a backup of the firmware (includes key file). Also you can use the backup file next time you flash to new firmware. Using the backup file will eliminate the step of extracting the firmware/key file from the DVD drive again.

make sure to save a copy of them on a different hard drive if you can, if not email them to yourself just in case your HD crashes on you sometime down the road.

Yeah I will do that, but can't I just extract the key again if I lose it?

yea you could, but its always better to have several copies of it in case the drive craps out and you need it to flash to a replacement drive.

ok sounds like a good idea, thanks for all your help guys. The fact that you could get the tutorial before opening the program was useful for me because at the start I could not get jungle flasher to open so I had plenty of reading time :P

this was all successful on my benq but I am now trying to flash a hitachi 47. It goes into mode b then when I press read to source it says

"Dumping f/w of Hitachi Pre 78 by Classic Ram Peek Method over Port IO .........Classic Dump Failed"

What is up with that? I know that this is not the drive that originated in the 360 as it would not read disks is this the issue and what do I do to get round it?
