All I've seen is that easybuy2000 (the only place I know where you could still get a chameleon and where I got mine) is replacing all preorders for the chameleon with this x-chip (who know's who makes it).
And this is my problem: My chameleon which I've had for about a month or two suddenly has a bad flash. I bought the programmer so I could reflash it and get the box going again and I keep getting write errors. So I'm assuming my chameleon has kicked the bucket. Good thing I have my receipt, I have a one year warantee through easybuy. But I don't want this new x-chip. I just bought the damn programmer, and now I can't even get another chameleon (at least through easybuy).
So, are they still on the market? And where can I get one if it is?

haha. yknow what? I just decided before I checked this thread that I should just screw easybuy2000 and their x-chip and get a xenium. I guess I'll just bite it with my broken chameleon. Or maybe I'll send it back and get a free x-chip so I can review it (chameleon still under warantee).
    Thanks for reaffirming my decision!

I might add also that my roomate and I had problems now and then witht he programmer programming the Matrix chip and Chameleon. Try the following:

1.Get a brave soul who is willing to sacrifice their fingers for pain.

2.Attach the chip to the programmer and plug them into your PC

3.Have that brave soul squeeze the chip and the programmer together where they connect. It has to be realy tight

4.That brave soul must continue to squeeze the crap outta that until your programming process is detected, written and verified. (maybe 5 minutes)

Try that and let me know. It worked for us. We discovered it by accident.

well, I tried that and still no luck. In fact, the error message has changed from "write error" to "unrecognizable flash" (even though it scans and reads the flash fine). Well, I don't understand these things. Except that the chip is done and I need a xenium.
    Thanks for the tip though.
