I'm up to step 6 now using msconga's guide, I downloaded the ASPI drivers and it corrected the XP error in IFOedit, and I was able to strip...but now....
I can't find the 'Get VTS sectors' button, when I open the video_ts in DVD1...HELP!

In my IFO menu I have tools, VOB xtras, Movie only, settings..

and at the bottom tabs are...
region free, delete playback, create tmpg, I can't click the create IFO tab, menu xtra, dvd play, preview.

    phil1991,

You must be on that well know "DVD Rippers Brew".

"Get VTS Sectors" is right underneath the "Delete Playback" button.

Are you sure your window is fully optimised ?

yeah homer...call me an idiot, i am, my window was NOT extended all of the way. I've been so stressed about trying to figure out why I can't get anything to work, didn't even notice it. Guess I need to take some long deep breaths, and a break from the screen...laff. Almost sucessful. I've been able to split the movie and even use the chapter skip to play the movie on D2 immediately...but I downloaded recordmax and tried to roxio(cpu installed) and neither one of them will read my burn drive. Keeps asking to insert a blank disk. Troubleshot with Compaq and they say its not the machine but maybe the software...right, I bought the system last Saturday, had to take it back monday and replace the cpu b/c the dvd drive didn't work. I'm hoping this isn't the case for this one. I mean, $1100 is a lot to pay to keep taking your computer back for a new one. But I should have known, the pieces of crap compaqs I have at work....anyway.

    phil1991,

We've all been there. Sometimes it's a good thing to step back, and take a breather.

The guide you are following is quite a good one, so stick to it.

As for Compaq, I use one of their monitors, and it works fine for me. Mind you, that's a whole lot different from a PC.

    Keep trying.
