    hello,

    I have a problem..
when I convert a MKV file to AVCHD and burned it... a big green line appears is visible on the tv..

I play it with the ps3... and converted so it can be played on the ps3..

is there a solution for this?

When burnt as a standard AVCHD or Blu-ray disc the video must be of a compliant resolution (1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 etc.) or a green bar will show for the lines that are not present in the resolution.

The only option to fix this is to re-encode the video.

deank's multiAVCHD will turn the green bar black, and allow subs/DTS for non-compliant streams. The video will still be top aligned. If you wish to keep the movie I definetly suggest re-encoding, however if you wish to just view and discard maybe give multiAVCHD a try.

    deank's thread at Doom9.

so instead of a green bar, Ive got at the same place a black bar..:S
this bar that I mean takes a lot of space. I only see the upper half of the movie.. so I dont know if thats gonna work..

re-encoding.. you mean do the same thing. convert it to avchd and burn it again?? wont I get the same problem then ??

The movie you are working with most likely has an aspect ration of 2.35:1, you're not actually missing any picture. The widescreen bars are just both on the bottom, instead of top & bottom.

My first suggestion was a quick workaround, my second suggestion to recode the video an add the bars in their proper places would take several hours, then you could burn as usual.
