I had 2 1gb ram sticks on my pc. The mother board supports up to 8gb of ram so i got two 2gb sticks and put them on the mother board but it will only show that i have 2.75gb of ram?

have to buy new windows cd as can't simply change a 32bit to 64bit by a few key strokes. either get 64bit vista or wait til windows 7 comes out.

Windows 7 RC will be released soon. You could try it out before you buy.

Note that 64-bit isn't as prevalent as 32-bit.
