how to activate 3G iphone

ey guys, please help me how to fix my 3g Iphone coz i accidentally reset all media and settings and it came up with nothing. after id reset it, i tried to connect my iphone to my computer and says "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone. please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement sim card."
i think it needs to be activated before going to its Main Menu..
please guys.i need your reply to this matter. thanks a lot and ill appreciate your response..

Unlock your iphone.Depending on which firmware and model you can use a sim card unlock (you can check my signature) or a software unlock.
