I'll freely admit I'm a ditz with computers and this proves it: I recently started to change my login password in Vista. I accessed the user account section and requested a password change. typed in my password, then typed in my new password and confirmed it by typing it in again. Didn't bother to create a hint as I changed my mind and hit 'cancel' instead of 'create new password'. thought nothing of it and shutdown windows. Later I restarted and when screen appeared for me to type in my password I tried my old password as well as the one i started to create. on each occasion it said I typed in the wrong password and now I can't get to my desktop. What pray tell can a blond with little computer experience do to get logged on to my computer?
Restart in safe mode: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/323ef48f-7b93-4079-a48a-5c58eec904a11033.mspx On the account login screen, in addition to the one you are unable to access, it should show the administrator account which you can access. From there you'll be able to go into your control panel and then to user accounts and change the password of your account.
when your at the screen to put in the pass word. Go through the back door. Press alt+ctrl+delete 2 times n time in administrator the press enter. then just delete the password. Hope that helps
