Do subtitles show up in conversions

I'm using Convertxtodvd and am trying to add Dutch subs to a video via an .srt file.
When converting, should you see the Dutch subtitles in the video preview pane or not? (as l don't)

I don't believe you'll see them in the preview pane.. it pretty much just displays the video at a fairly rapid rate..

You should be able to turn them on and off in your player as you would with the sub-titles on a normal commercial DVD.
