IPOD NANO 2nd GEN WHITE SCREEN PROBLEM

The problem isn't all the time. As soon as the ipod is turned on, nothing, blank white screen. It can play music and you can hear the wheel flicking through the menus, but on the screen nothing.
I have tried:
Resetting (menu and select button)
Formatting via windows and re-installing with itunes
Restoring with itunes
After 5 mins (if i don't touch it) i press any button and wahay back to normal until i turn it off again...same problem see above.
Any ideas?
