Vista - Up to 10 applications always crash on startup!

I dunno what's going on but almost every time I start up or restart my computer, up to 10 applications crash including windows explorer.

I have an XPS M1530 running vista. I don't remember when it first started but it seems to be happening almost every time now which is why I've taken more notice of it.

Here's a screenshot. Every notification pops up behind each other one after the other but I just spread them out so you can see.

..and btw that error on the left is for scrcal.exe which is a screen calendar program...even though the program doesn't actually crash.
