Well, as the topic says, my Windows XP doesn't shut down It just hangs at "Windows is shutting-down" screen although we can still move the mouse I've always got to press the power button for like 10 secs to shut it down but that it's the correct way and may harm my PC When I go to the event log, I get the following error And in that date - lines box I get Help will be greatly appreciated ^_^
very simple.. right click on the drive and select properties from there select tools.. run an error check. you will need to a reboot.. allow it then wait.
^ That's the point... I've already tried that but the system itself gets stuck at the "Windows is shutting down" and after I forcefully restart it, the error checking doesn't occur [as forcefully restarting the system, makes it not save some things]
Well.. you didn't say you had tried that.. am I supposed to be psychic?. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ Should know how to use that.
^ ooh thanx ^^ I'll try it out ^^ and also : I've said that I couldn't shut down my PC ^^ For restarting the PC has to shut down first and then again start back ^^ But even though sorry if I'm wrong >.>
^ This is not a double post Well, I've downloaded the UBCD and I can't burn the disc into a disc for some reason... I mean whenever I press the open key for my CD drive, my PC restarts -_- There's some major problem besides this I think >.> I managaed to somewhat solve that partition1/D error >.> I juz copied the files from D that I req. and then formatted the drive using command prompt ^^ Now I don't get that error but still I can't shut down my PC the normal way ( I saw from some source that you can boot up UBCD from a pen-drive/USB flash drive but the sad part is I don't have one So, I was thinking that I'd use my PSP for booting up instead ^^ I mean, practically it's one and the same thing ^^ So, is this possible ??? And I've downloaded Windows XP too ^^ Please help ^_^
