I think you were a casualty of an itunes upgrade. If you are under warantee use it.

My nano still has the same version of itunes that I bought it with 4 years ago. I have never had a problem with it. Upgrades tend to kill players of all makes from time to time. It is always some weird unexpected thing you do that kills your device. They usually fix it before it kills all the players. There was a famous Zune update that took out about 10% of them. The manufacturer never takes responcibility for the error. They want you to by a new one of the same make. I figure if my device is working fine why up grade?

ecost has selling 16g Sansa for 65 USD for 15 more you can get a 2 year warentee. These are a much better device than the nano. Concider yourself lucky. I wouldn't up grade unless you need to.

    Good thinking!

They always put an extremely stable on the players to begin with.

Once you get into the upgrade cycle you are upgrading to fix a problem with the last upgade. My software on my nano is 4 years old. Sure I am missing a fell bells and wistles but the interface is almost identical to what the newest one is. I can see less than 5 real improvements. Most of the upgrades are to tighten security and have nothing to do with the interface or something you as a user would want.
