Ok, I would like to say hello to everyone. I'm going to be moving into a apartment in the sandycove area soon and i'm thinking of getting a DREAMBOX 500C DM500C. I'm new to this flashing lark etc and would be looking to flash it myself. So Here's my questions

    1. Where can i buy one of these online? Ive seen them on ebay but not sure if they are clones. Around 100euros

    2. Do i just download Dreamup and the image and flash via null modem cable?

    3. Whats the best image for the Sandycove area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM Me either. Cheers!

answer to question 1,they have them on this site.answer to question 2 yes.answer to question 3 try the downloads section on this site for dreambox dm5000c images but beware if you buy an original and flash your box with clone firmware you could kill it.get all available info on this site or elsewhere before buying or flashing your box.digitalworldz.com is excellent site for dreamboxes but is a hard site to gain access to(as they have funny rules)but you should find all you need right here in any case.one last thing you may or may not know but most cable areas in ireland either have or will change encryption from nagra2 to nagra3,meaning most are all boxes wont work either now are in the near future, and there is as i speak no fix.but dreambox are excellent and are linux based like a pc really so they might be easier to fix,but who knows, that old saying springs to mind (buyer beware).good luck.
