    Hi.

I have a Vista 32 bit operating on an Acer Aspire computer. I have recently improved my ram from 450mb to 1 Gig ram. it's a lot faster than usual but...

How do I improve my computer's performance, not just on it's own but also it's connection to the Internet? Are there programs that will help me?

    THanks.

what's the cpu on your computer? also what video card are you using?

With vista you need a very fast cpu, and also at least a midrange video card. Even your upgrade to 1gb of ram is at the lower end of what vista needs.

With your current configuration probably using windows xp is the only way to increase it's speed. XP will run fine on 1gb of ram and a low end video card/cpu.

Internet speed is governed by your broadband speed not the comp,so you need to get a faster bb plan

Put another hdd in as a slave if you have a spare & move the pagefile to it other than that what jony said

jony, Riff has onboard video because he had "450mb" ram before upgrading to 1gig.

Riff, what is the model# of the acer aspire to see what you have? could use a seperate videocard as will free up all ram back to system ram instead of being used for onboard video.
