I currently have an Antec 500 watt power supply and I would like to upgrade to the Ultra X3 1000-watt power supply. Here are the current specifications of my PC:

    Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme
    RAM: 6.00 GB
    Video Card: EAH4870X2
    HDD: 2x 500GB Hitachi SATA
    Sound: Sound FX I
    CPU: i7 920 3.8GHZ
    Cooler: V1 AX cooler
    PSU: Antec 500-watt
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
    Case: Antec Sonata III 500

Will the power supply fit into my case? And is the power supply enough for my parts? If this PSU is not a good choice please let me know!

It's not a good choice. A Corsair HX 620W should run that system fine, but for some more breathing room, a Zalman ZM850-HP is what I swear by, I use one for my Quad crossfire (two 4870X2s and an overclocked Quad core) setup.

Why is the Ultra X3 not a good choice?

Because Ultra Power supplies are poorly made and designed, regularly fail or are DOA, and above all else, aren't anywhere near the wattage they stamp on the side. I guarantee you the Zalman ZM850-HP can put out far more watts than the Ultra.
