Movie wont play on DVD player

Hello everyone I am pretty much a beginner I burned a video to a disk using Easy DVD and CD burner. I went to go and play it on my DVD player and said there was a disk error. The video works fine on my computer but not on personal player. The player does play DVD-R I have played a burned disk on there before, the movie I am trying to play is a AVI. Can anyone HELP!!

but unless your dvd player is divx / xvid compatible, it will not play your disc. You will need to convert it to dvd format first.

Ok I downloaded that software and I think I formatted the movie as a DVD. How do I get it on my disk now. Sorry for the new

 

Ive put the movie on dvd but the words look a little off. What speed do I need to put it at?
