    Hi,
I need some help :) Before I got my laptop with Vista, I had Windows XP, DVD Shrink and Nero 6. They all worked perfectly to help me back up my DVDs. But I just can't seem to burn in Vista. I've tried some suggestions and even went out to buy the new Nero 9 (which I thought I could use for both burning DVDs and karaoke CDGs but so far nothing) Any suggestions for either of my problems? Thanks! :)

If you can't burn at all, meaning you didn't even make a restore set, I would get an external drive and a backup imaging program. You can get a free one called Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Express. Once you have saved your system info, take off all the burning programs and put on Imgburn for DVD burns and CDBurnerXP for CDs. With Imgburn set the option to lock the drive. If it gives an error saying another app has control of the drive, then you didn't get all the burning crap off the system.
