    Hi there,

I am new to this type of problem so please bear with me.

I recently replaced my hard drive with a larger harddrive, went from 160G to 500G. I was told that I couldn't transfer my data from the smaller HD to the larger HD, that was fine. Here in lies my issue: the other day I went to watch a DVD on my computer and was perplexed as to why WinDvd wouldn't open. Duh!! I didn't have it on my new harddrive. Duh!!

Here is my question: Can I reinstall my old harddrive, copy the program files and then reinstall the new harddrive and install the program to that?

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

who ever told you you can't transfer data from 1 hd to another hd, don't know what they are talking about as i clone hd's all the time. you are better off re-installing WinDvd from a disk as you'll need a program to copy all files & registries of WinDvd off old hd onto new hd.
