I have DVD Shrink & DVDDecryter on my pc to burn DVD's. I recently had my computer rebuilt & am unable to remember the setting need to automatically open Decrypter after Shrink. Can anyone help?
Dvd shrink and dvd decrypter are both no longer being updated.....coming on 5 years now. Rip with DvdFab HD Decrypter (freeware) Process with Fixvts (Freeware) Compress with dvd shrink/dvd rebuilder (both freeware) Burn with Imgburn (freeware)
@rtm27 All good advice, but if your using all the old versions shrink will start automatically with decrypter and you have to come back and set ImgBurn to burn Shrinks file. Except if you have the new amended shrink that lets you open the files with ImgBurn(I believe that's how that works-it's been so long since I've used Shrink and Decrypter. And i don't have the links to the fix shrink-ImgBurn linkup. See 7thsingers top post http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/664041
Just to throw in my two cents here, but I would never recommend autoburning anyway (and I believe many other regulars here would agree). You are not going to break the bank when you find out there was something wrong with your rip and/or processing and the end result was a coaster. But then you have wasted your time and very well may have to do the whole process over form the beginning. I always view the results on my pc prior to burning to disk, but again that is simply my opinion. To each his own.
so how do you guys check the file before you burn it? Certainly you don't watch the movie in real time?? Just curious. It's very seldom I have a problem with a coaster. And $.20 not a big issue, losing a ty02 is tho. LOL
I use PgcEdit and then I play it in PowerDVD and fast foward, skip chapters, go back and all that stuff. PcgEdit can correct things that FixVTS and VobBlanker cannot.
I also prefer to verify everything is the way i want it before burning. The way i see it, the process i use is fairly time consuming; what's another half hour to check it out before burning? I certainly wouldn't want to have to run through it all again. And like Garmoony said...losing a TY is not an option.
You have to set it in DVD Shrink. Backup-> Target Device-> Select backup target, from the pulldown choose 'ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter'.
I don't do any checking prior to burning. If it's something ripped by DVDFab then i always run the files thru vobblanker prior to DVD Rebuilder, then the encoded movies sit on the hard drive until i get around to burning them manually (which is usually straight away, wouldn't want to have to loads of re-encoding again if a hard drive died). As long as vobblanker has been run i'm happy. Autoburning is evil
I can't see the need to check my files before burning. I always autoburn and have not had any problems with that method. For 90% of backups I use NeroRecode and let it autoburn with Neroburn Rom. For the other 10 % CloneDVD and It's autoburning program. Both ways with AnyDVD running. I do movie only back ups, one English subtitle and 5.1 surround sound on top media mostly TY 02s or Verb 004s burn @8X. I never hesitate in backing up a backup without having viewed the disc prior. Seldom do I have a bad end product. Expensive Verb DLs are a different animal altogether. AnyDVD-ImgBurn to create ISO or Video files and ImgBurn to burn same w/o checking either before burning. But burning manually.
