*I posted this earlier but was deleted due to my title (sry about the title, i didnt see the sticky on that)

I have a windows xp desktop which is connected to a wireless dlink router via an ethernet cable, which in turn is connected to the internet via a cable to the broadband modem. My toshiba laptop (Vista) is connected wirelessly to the dlink router and i can access the internet wirelessly on my laptop.
What i want to do is connect my laptop to my desktop, wirelessly via my dlink router, so that i can share files.

Ive set up a network on my xp with network wizzard and made a workgroup, Followed similar steps on vista. I turned on file and printer sharing on both and tuned off both firewalls.

I can see and access my laptop files from the desktop. But my laptop still doesn't see my desktop??? All my laptop recognizes in the workgroup is itself "laptop" even when opening "laptop" it says its not accessible. What am i doing wrong?

-both are set to share files
    -both have shared folders
    -both have all firewalls down
    -both have the same workgroup

maybe i missed something on vista?
