Hello all, if you could please give me some advice on what i should do i would greatly appreciate it.

Ok so I currently want to be able to hook my computer up to my LCD HDTV. My computer does not have an HDMI output so I have it connected thru the VGA cord for the video, and i went out and bought a Audio Y Splitter for the sound. But when i hook up the sound i get the horrible humming noise and cant stand it. The splitter i bought said it is a protected cable so it shouldnt be making the noise right? If i were to go and buy a more expensive cable would that make a difference? It was only $9US.

Also, would it be smarter just to update my graphics card to have an available HDMI port? If so do you have any suggestions? Do i need to upgrade the power supply as well?

I am a little computer savy but not really so if you could please point me in the direction on how to answer any questions you may ask me about my computer that would probably make this go a little smoother.

    Computer Specs:
    Dell Dimension E521
    Running Windows Vista Ultimate 32
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20GHz
    3326mb of Ram available
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE

Thank You for any and all help!
