I have this one movie that's 7.8 gigs in size and that I'm trying to burn onto a DVD+R DL. I'm using Verbatim Made In India brand DVD+Rs, as I bought them online and the seller didn't say if the DVD+Rs DL were made in India or Singapore. I've heard Singapore ones are better.

Anyway, I don't know if it's because it's a bad rip, but I'm having trouble burning a good copy. The files are in a folder, which I renamed VIDEO_TS. I use ImgBurn.

The first few times I tried, it kept telling me I had a Power Calibration Error, so I converted the folder to an ISO using Folder2Iso. I burned, but when I put it in my DVD player, instead of playing as a DVD, I see a list of the files that were included in the folder.

Second time burning, I was able to burn it completely as folder, but there's a problem when trying to get to the second layer. The DVD freezes. I can jump to the next chapter, but I don't consider having to do so a successful burn.

Anyway, when I try to burn, ImgBurn shows me box where I have to choose something about break layer. I figure this has to do with the passage to the second layer. Anyway, I don't have the options in front of me, but it's like, there are two options. When I select one, it gives me the option of clicking OK, of clicking Remove UDF (or was it IDF) info, of clicking Ignore Break Layer, and some other options. When I try to click on Ignore Break Layer, it says that this will make it impossible to burn on DL media and if I'm sure. Of course, I say no. If I say Remove UDF Info, it says that I should click this only if I'm sure my player does not need it or something.

But anyway, I just have a problem. Anybody know what I could do to make it burn correctly? DVD+R DLs are very expensive, and I've already wasted a bunch. Thanks.

I burned another one, but forgot to save the log. It was a failed burn as well. But I redid the verification check. There's an error. Here's the verification log:

Yeah, the DVD keeps freezing when trying to change to the second layer.

Here's what I was talking about earlier. When I try to burn, it makes me choose a layer break position:

Here's when I choose "Ignore Break Options"

    Here's when I choose "Seamless"

    And here's when I choose "Don't update IFO/BUP info"

    Thanks!

See if the files will open in DVD Shrink, this will help determine if there is a problem with them.

You need to choose a layer break, you can preview where it will fall. Seeing as there will be a slight pause there pick one based on what you see (definitely not during any important action). You could also try the seamless option once to see if in fact your players can handle it... some can't.
