I had recently converted an avi file to dvd using avs convertor. It had resulted 5 vob files in a folder video_TS. During the process of conversion it had compressed the file to accomodate within one disk. I had burnt the converted dvd with nero in a dvd disk.
when I play in a dvd player, it plays only the first file. It doesn't go the next file at all and it stalls. When I do it in computer, it goes thro'
Where had I gone wrong? Is there any way I can make it read one after another?
Will combining all the vob files into a single file and burning it solve the problem?
Request your guidance.

Are the files in the format:
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
ETC.
The VTS_01 part refers to this Title (in this case Title 1).
The _1.VOB etc refer to the files that comprise the Title and they should play seamlessly.
If they are in the format shown, run DVD Shrink and 'Open Disk'.
Check if the 'Main Movie' shows the correct running time.
