I just finished the softmod on my xbox and was loading some emulators and roms and I just ran into a small problem. Some of the roms will FTP perfectly while others from the same source encounter an error and don't FTP. The error just says "Could not start transfer". Its not a huge problem cause the majority of my roms go through perfectly, however, some of my favorite titles from years ago won't FTP and I really want to play them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
I only ever get this when any filenames are too long. I use filezilla and i forget how many characters are allowed. Try renaming the files.
Thanks creaky...worked perfect! Use Filezilla also, for work and play actually, and never ran into that problem. Now I know, thanks. I am still a little confused though because some of the files that did not go through previously had much shorter file names then files that went through perfectly. However, even these shorter file named files, if I shortened the file name any way I could, the files went through without a hitch. Weird...
Good stuff. Yeah it does sometimes seem to get hung up on files for no reason. Maybe that's why there's so many updates all the time
