DivX Looks Great But Can Darkness Be Adjusted?

Hello - I am terribly sorry if this has been asked 1,000 times already (I am completely new here). I have created DivX 5 movies by following the guide here. It worked great, and I am highly appreciative of this site - what a wonderful resource! I, however, noticed that my DivX movies look just a little dark - has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to add a filter of some sorts to make it just slightly brighter, or is this, perhaps, just a side-effect of compressing so much movie into so (relatively) little space? Thank you very much!! And thanks again for the excellent site!

I think everybody has this problem with divx. Your dark sceens would either be too bright or too dark. I cant explain it. Try converting to vcd/svcd instead with tmpgenc. This should work much better
