I have a lot of experience modding PS2's but none with xbox, but I have i guess a basic understanding of it.

My buddy's xbox will run for a few mins then die, flashing red light.

If i let it sit for a few, then try again, same deal, runs fine for a few mins then dies.

His chip only has one wire so I'm assuming its one of the chips you have to line up correctly, but if it boots correctly, i dont see how it could be an alignment issue.

He runs evox, not sure which version. Any help would be appreciated.

it sounds like a heat issue, are you sure the fan is running? some people forget to plug it back in when they put their board back in.

Okay, the fan in the back was off, so i plugged that in, now instead of running for a few then dying with an orangish kind of light, it trys to boot a cpl times then flashes green/red. all the ide cables power bla bla looks ok.

    Whats my next step?

thanks for replying so quick btw.

that sounds like a bios or alighnment issue. there are alot of things on flashing green and red, do a search on it, or check out xbox-scene.com's tutorial section, they have a few tutorials specifically on that.
