i built a computer a good 3-4 months ago and have been running vista ultimate SP1 on it without any problems, but just recently it has been getting past the BIOS and loading screen and then freezing on a black screen. i ran in safe mode and it froze on "system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys". I then removed every bit of hardware i had connected besides the HDD with vista on it and even replaced my new computers HDD with this one and the same problem occured. i've searched everywhere and found no solutions and also tried the vista repair which didnt help. the only thing i haven't done is formatted and reinstalled vista because i have important stuff on it.. any advice?
