I am having a problem with the this piece of kit. I have connected it between my Dell laptop and video player using a SCART to S-video lead. I can only get a black and white picture. I am in the UK and have a PAL video. I have changed all the settings to PAL and S-video in Windows Movie Maker. I have also reinstalled the driver, tried everything I can think of. Has anybody had the same problem? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
It's not that mate, I've tried it using two different videos, two different cables. Even tried installing it on my other laptop and still the same (other laptop almost the same, a Dell Latitude D600). Starting to think its the type of laptop or a piece of the hardware?? Don't think many other people have a problem setting this kit up. Thanks for trying anyway.
I don't have another pc unfortunatley. Thinking about it my girlfriend has another laptop (and not a Dell thank goodness), I might give it a go on that. Hopefully it will tell me where i'm going wrong. Why doesn't it work!!
I bought an Easycap one of these a few months ago from eBay. It was from Hong Kong and a lot cheaper than this one. I had the same problem before and thought that it was the box so sent it back and bought the K-world one. It think this indicates that the poroblem lies with my pc hardware and/or the drivers?? I guess testing it on another pc will give me the answer.
Tried it on my gfs HP laptop and still getting a black and white pic!!! I can't believe it. It must be the driver or something with the device. Has anybody else ever installed one of these?
If it won't work with either system, then it is either bad hardware or a bad driver. Either way, RETURN IT.
It's in the box already. I've had enough. Just a bit surprising that two different kits I have bought haven't really worked. You would think it would be simple. Thanks for all your input on this one guys.
I thought these would do the job. Any suggestions on what's the best way to convert video to dvd? I am trying to do it for my dad. He has got quite a few old videos and dont want to spend a fortune by handing them into a professional outfit.
