I burned xaviers auto installer and it works! but before i add dashboard etc i want to know if its required to do so. I have a 120gig hd ready to go that i want to use and add the dash to, but would i have to installed stuff to the retail hd before using my 120gig or is there any way i can just put the dashboard and stuff on my new 120 gig hd and keep my retail ms hd untampered with? thx for any help.
well i;m not sure about the xaviers auto installer, but in the slayers auto installer it has the option to back up the eeprom. this is what you should do back up the eeprom and FTP and retrive that and back it up to a disc. this all you need to do. You do not need to add the dashboard and apps to the retail hard drive. just put in the bigger Hard Drive you want to install and install the dashboard and apps to that so that your retail hard drive won't have anything on it.
will my brand new virgin hard drive work right out of the box?? so I install the chip, swap the retail hd with a virgin hd, then flash the bios? will it work like that?
