Dell Inspiron 1501 battery problem

    I have a dell inspiron 1501 and my battery cannot be identified. Laptop is charging off AC power. Has anyone got a solution. I have tried dell website but to no avail.

    Smart chip in the battery may be dead. See if you can get another battery to try.

    Thanks I'll try that. I didn't want to buy one in case thats not the problem. How much is a new battery approx?

    I don't know where you're Located but the 4 letter auction site has them for about $36.00 USD.
