Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

DVD to xvid frame rate problem

#1 30 Apr 2009 @ 8:52
I'm backing up a single vob file joined from a DVD with vobjoiner. The xvid encode goes fine but the avi file is several minutes shorter than the original mpeg2 file. Naturally, the audio is way out of sync. The source file is 29.97 according to vdubmod, yet when played with mplayer classic, ffdshow reflects a (variable) speed of about 25 frames per second. The encoded avi, however, naturally reads out 29.97. Could this be a header issue? What to do? Thanks.

Instead of joining the vob's together,
why don't you use something like AutoGK, and point it to the IFO
file. It will then put the pieces together on the fly.
