Hey all, I'm new to this side of the fence, I usually hang around in the xbox 360 forum. I have Windows 7 on my laptop as it was "suppose" to run a bit lighter than Vista did, so I was hoping it would help out battery life some. I like the look, and the functions are alright. But I don't see that many changes from Vista to 7. I know a lot of changes are in the background, but not really much difference there. So what does everybody else think about it? Think its all its cracked up to be? Or another bust?
So far I am not too impressed...but I have not dug very deep into RC1 (just got it yesterday, and have not installed it on my media center). I am hoping some of the Media Center problems from XP have been fixed (they were never even touched for vista). So far my laptop (only system I have put it on) seems to be running a bit faster than it did with Vista64, but not enough to justify an upgrade (even for free). At the very least, it seems to be better than vista (Where vista was not better than XP). Put it ony media center now...very impressed with Windows 7 Media Center App; works perfectly. Goodbye and good ridance to Vista.
we already have a thread for windows 7, check it out: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6/738907#4661851
