Hi,just got starview 4 and after a scan it finds NO channels. The front display has 4 dashes across the front and that's it. Does this mean it has no software on it? If so what version should be put on it?

Yes thats what it means. You will find what you need in Eamos at the bottom of my post. 1.07 is for the UK, 1.09 is for Ireland, (buts thats of little use now).

So if you are in the UK flash with 1.07. After that go through the installation procedure. When scan is finished, press menu, type 1570 on remote and turn key code on. Exit all the way out to Sly Sports and let it update.

If you are in Ireland I just wouldn't bother :)

Yes or external USB Hard Drive. Make sure you format it via the box itself. Mem stick is preferable as more than likely it will have a smaller GB capacity which the box can format to FAT32.

External HDD above 32GB can be formatted from your PC with an application such as swissknife. So a mem stick is preferable ;)
