I have a local network at my home and have a linksys router. all of my computers ip address start with 192.168.1 The computer in my living room had the ip address 192.168.1.104 I had to reset my router and now it assigned all of my computers different ip addresses. Is there a way to manually change my living rooms computer ip address back to 192.168.1.104? I cant figure out how to do it
If you are using DHCP (router provides IP addresses, you need to set up Static DHCP to provide the same IP address to the MAC address of the specific PC. Alternately, if this is a home network over which you have total control, you can use static IP addresses. (Assign each PC a specific IP address within your subnet and turn DHCP off in the router.
You'd have to read the manual on how to access your router settings, you should know how to do that since you would've needed to set it up when first installed.
