So I have not used a Blu-Ray disc yet. Are they compatible with regular DVD burners?

I understand that they can hold quite a few hours of video on them. So basically if I record say a 3 hour wedding in HD at 1920 resolution it's not going to fit on a 4.7gig DVD, but it will on Blu-Ray correct?

Also one last thing, can a blu-ray be played on regular dvd players or play station 2's ?

Bluray disks will not be recognised by DVD Players or PS2., Just the same as you can't stick a DVD in a CD player.

There are two sizes of blank Bluray disk, 25 gig and 50 gig.
25 gig are about £4 to £5 pounds each.

A HD home video at 3 hours long should fit but not sure if you would need a 25gig or a 50 gig blank. (might be 50 TBH)

I remeber that a DVD (single layer) can fit 1 hour of video without compression. Anything longer is compresses.
Not sure what 1 hour of video equates to for 1920 x 1080 HD Video in terms og Gigabytes.

All the ones I see are $14.99 - $25.00 each. They are a little cheaper in packs of 10.
