Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Z series is the "economy line" Sony. You can probably get better value with a Samsung or Sharp 42".

Case in point:

"S" is actually the economy line. The 4100's are older models, I believe. It was my understanding that only some of the XBR's are better than the Z's.

Thank you. Sony made it very difficult to do a comparison when they came out with the Z, W, and S series.

I own an XBR but my latest purchase was a Samsung.

For some reason Sony likes to make everything difficult. Their documentation supplied with the TV's are very vague. I bought a 52s5100 that had been displayed at the store so it was set for commercial mode. When I got it home and tried using the custom settings it would revert back to the vivid setting. I had to search the internet to find out to reset it. They don't even give an explanation as to what some of the settings are.
