Can you burn .avi files directly to the CD-R without converting?
I found on this board that you can do that, but when I tried it with Nero Burning Rom, I played them back off of the CD and each frame would repeat itself 5 times, and no sound.
    Help?

I am not sure why you guys want to go this. The file .avi can be copied as data with something like Nero onto a CD, but far better would be to encode it into something you can share across more platforms, even standalone players. Also, some .avi files are special, like the ones downloaded from Kazza sometimes require special codecs (like for example TMD stuff, although pleaaaase lets not get into that now).

If all you want to do is copy .avi files onto CDR, then all you should need to do is use Nero or similar burning software. Do not use the Nero .avi to VideoCD converter although, although that is so crap it defames faeces.

    Paul.
