very helpful last time i had a problem thats why i am returning but anyway i downloaded a torrent and was wondering how burn it to a dvd-r and what programs to use any help would be appreciated

Make sure your player can read VCD, SVCD or is that why the DVD?

thanks for the info imma check that out but i downloaded a torrent i wanted to watch on my dvd player at my house and could only find the bin and cue files on it couldnt find a avi format but thanks for all the help

There is no avi in a bin and cue. You would have to extract the video to be DVD compatible. Pretty sure I used this guide: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic141726.html#svcdbin Edit: ImgBurn sound's better.
