    Hi again folks!
    Ques for everyone -

I am really concerned about getting a virus by downloading movies off the internet.

Is there an alternative like having a stand-alone hard-drive strictly used for downloading movies and if there is a virus it will go right to it instead of corrupting my main PC?
If so, how much is this going to cost?

Good question; over the year's, I've downloaded thousand's of video torrent's and also audio file's using program's like Mirc and now, Frostwire for awhile. I've heard it's a good way to get infected and, perhap's, I've been lucky but I've never been infected although I've seen a few file's (audio only) that my AV jumped on and cancelled before they could complete. I would think a virus would affect anything it was connected to once you opened it but someone else would know better than me and can comment on that.

I used to think that a "quarantine drive" was an answer. I realized/found out that it's not.

Most viruses and malware are sophisticated enough that as soon as they're executed, they go right where they need to go and as long as there's a path to the system folder, that's where they'll hole up.

Having a quarantine PC that's off the network and running stand-alone is the only effective quarantine that I can think of, which would require "sneakernetting" an external back and forth from the download PC to the quarantine PC.
