i am installing a TP-LINK usb wireless dongle, and in order for me to install the drivers i need to open a "sys" file and i dont have the software to do so on my laptop.

so does anyone know a free 100% zero risk application that can do this for me, any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks.

Are you trying to edit the sys file? If so, you can use notepad to do it. If you are just trying to install it, use the EXE that came with it and it should do everything for you.

hey killerbug sorry for the late reply!

Thanks for the info but im not trying to edit the file i have installed it with the disk it came with but there is a number of files on the disk for all different TP-LINK dongles and the drivers 4 the dongle are a SYS file an i cant seem to run it on my comp, the dongle works when the laptop is first switched on then it stops working so thats why im trying to get the drivers for it as that might be the problem, what do you think?

any more help would be appreciated!

You don't run the sys file. You use device manager to select the device that needs a new driver. then click "update driver" and guide it to where the sys file is.
