i have a pc running vista basic in the living room and also an old laptop running xp pro, The usb port on the laptop does not work so any time i need files from the laptop i copy them into the shared folder (xp) and click on the network folder on the vista pc, where i can usually see the laptops network location, and click into it to find the folders i copied and extract from there. the problem is that today when i click into network i cannot find the network location for the laptop. I cannot think of anything or any setting i would have changed that would have this effect but i am not sure if anyone else using the computers have. Does anyone have any ideas that could be the cause of this ?

Windows makes such a great server! Linux can't fix it's own errors like this (because it does not cause it's own errors to begin with).
