I installed a Lite on dvd dual format burner and installed dvd x copy express and works beautifull.Well I know my dvd burner also does cd's but today i installed a cd burner for the faster speed of doing cd's.With this burner installed when I run dvd x copy to back up my dvd's.It comes up I click start and away it goes reading the disc.When it tells me to put in a blank dvd I do but the button never turns green again for me to start the burn process.Unhook the ribbon from the new cd burner and i burn dvds just fine.Hook it up and problem is back.I did have them set as slave and master on same controller so thought maybe one needs to be on the primary and the other on the secondary.Well tried that and didn't fix anything as I have tried other stuff but nothing helps other then unhooking the ribbon to the cd burner.Anyone had this prob or know what i need to do to fix it. try setting the dvd burner on its own ide (primary), and then your cd burner on the secondary of the other ide, I'm guessing you have your hd as one of the primaries. From what I can tell you have not tried that, you could also use dvdshrink, or dvd2one, if you still have problems. got isos?
yes i did try that and no matter how i hook things up it doesn't change things.Dvd x copy will read but not burn if cd burner is hooked up.I myself am curious if maybe dvd x copy thinks even though one isn't a dvd burner that i'm trying to burn more then one copy at once.So the program prevents me from burning.See my dvd burner is a lite on dual format burner and works great but top speed on burning cd's with it is 40x.Well i bought a simple 52x cd burner so to do cd's faster.See with dvd x copy you have to close it each and every time you can burn so maybe something in the program prevents someone from burning 2 copies at once and maybe it see's my cd burner as a dvd burner. Anyone else had this problem because myself and 2 friends have the same problem with 3 different pc's and 3 different burners but all of us run dvd x copy express only thing that is the same so thinking its the program.

The problem is solved.See I always launch from my desktop.Well I was looking around and went to start and programs to launch dvd x copy.Well I found disc select and told it my dvd drive and now it works fine with a cd burner in the system.When I had just dvd drive all worked fine and assumed it would with adding cd burner.Must be when it came time to burn it was trying to burn to the cd drive and being no disc in it well it never lit button up for me to start the burn.
