    how about a little more details...like what is it you want to do with an audio editing program?

    the bad news is that other than a few very basic ones like audacity, most others aren't free. there are professional ones that i use, such as pro tools and cubase, but even consumer level ones like sony's sound forge or adobe audition are pretty costly.
