DVD ripping from Tivo

Okay, I did the search and nothing came up..

I have been ripping SVCDs from my Tivo (Satellite Dish Receiver) via svideo without
a problem. What I would like to do is be able to increase the sound (DB 5.1) and
video and be able to rip them from the SVIDEO captured (AVI) to a DVD using
a DVD writer. Who has done this and how can I go about it?

Is there a DVD software package that will capture and write the DVD all-in-one?

I've been using Pinnacle for AVI capture and then TMPGenc to encode to SVCD
so far and it works alright but the 44 khz sound seems a little on the crappy side
and I'd like to move up to DVD now..
