my MSI HD3870 is rather loud and i was thinking about getting an aftermarket cooler for it... any recommendations?

quiet is of utmost importance... i am assuming a new cooler will improve the temps, but even if they stay the same, it's not my concern... SILENCE is what I am after.

xigmatek battle axe is available at microcenter for 17.00... anyone have experience with it? other suggestions are welcome too, but hopefully around this price range...

The ZALMAN VF1000 is serving me very well on my Sapphire HD3870, but these units go for $48. Can't even hear it over my hard drives (but I have always run it with 6-12 hard drives in the system).

dang 50 dollars is more then i want to spend... i guess i'll give the xigmatek a try if no one has any other suggestions... if it doesn't work out i'll go with your zalman recommendation... may end up costing more in the long run, but hey no guts no glory!!! lol

Probably a safe approach; I only went with the overkill cooler because I have so many hot items cramed into such a small space.
