Hello all. So I downloaded my first Xbox game to play on my pre-modded Xbox I bought just yesterday. I've read the 'How To' guide but nothing's as easy as it seems, is it! The game is Virtual Tennis 3 Pal. Extracting the RAR files gave me a set of files in .001 format(dnl-vt09.001 - dnl-vt09.071) which I proceeded to join using HJSplit. Upon completion I got One file named 'dnl-vt09'. The format is unknown. Doesn't seem like a proper ISO image file to me. So if some one could help me out here, it'd be greatly appreciated.

.001 etc I believe is 7zip. So WinRAR will not work with them. Also I see you said PAL on the game, is your console PAL or NTSC?

The downloaded files were in RAR format. Files in .001 extension I got After extracting the downloaded(RAR) files. And joining the .001 files gave me a file named 'dnl-vt09' and it has no .extension to it. And yes, i've a PAL system.

Hi and welcome to our humble abode. However, thread title renamed from "Xbox Newbie. Need some help!", a title in a forum of the same name is as bad as "Please Help". In future please see here about thread titles ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440385

dnl-vt09 is Virtua Tennis 2009, not Virtua Tennis 3. All you do is open the .001 file in WinRAR and you can extract the .ISO and .DVD files. You don't need to use 7-Zip as WinRAR works just fine with those kinds of archives, it's just that it won't work if you just double-click the .001 file as WinRAR isn't associated with that file extension by default. Right click the file and choose "Open With" instead.

Oh yes, it's Virtual Tennis 2009. And thanks! Opening the file in WinRAR did the trick!
