    hey guys,

I recently recovred my Acer Aspire 5735-4774 from a bad experience with linux...using the recovery disk. and prior to using linux i had vista running and i put my Windows XP CD into both of my drives, at different times trying to get xp to boot so i could do a fresh install and it worked...now after going back to vista from using linux (Ubuntu 9.04) i changed my boot order so the drive with the XP CD was first and it gave the the black screen (like normal) but istead of saying "please press any key to boot from CD" it gave me the black screen and a line that looked like command promt and immediatly booted back into Vista, instead of XP...what can i do?

    Interesting...

I had a very simlar problem. I'm guessing for some reason vista won't let you or it's a hardware problem. I never managed to fix that problem and installed windows 7 instead.
