I have a number of large (5+ GB) .vob files that I want to make DVDs. I'm using MPEG2cut to chop them up but then IFOedit freezes while trying to make IFOs for them. Maybe I need a more precise way to chop them up?

    Please advise.

You are probably using the old version 1.x of Mpeg2Cut, which did not copy header information.

Version 2 of Mpeg2Cut resolves a number of issues from Version 1, and adds a number of new features.

The latest version (Mpg2Cut2) is available at

If you are having problems with Version 1,
then give Version 2 a try.

For cutting VOBs, I recommend the following::
    - "menu - Output - Preamble - MAXIMUM"
    - Also use "PVAStrumento" from Offeryn if cutting multiple clips..
